How to schedule X posts from the terminal

To schedule tweets from the command line, draft them in the terminal with Claude Code or the Evenpost command line, then approve them on your phone, where they take the next natural slot. Evenpost, an app for X (Twitter) that lets an AI agent draft posts you approve on your phone, keeps that final tap off the terminal on purpose.

Evenpost / Answers / Schedule X posts from the terminal

A terminal is a good place to write a post: the commit, the diff and the release notes are right there. It is a poor place to hold the power to publish. A script with X keys can post a typo at 3 am, and a key typed on the command line stays in your shell history.

Schedule tweets from the command line, in three steps

  1. Log in onceRun the login command from Connect your agent. It asks for your key and hides what you paste. A key typed as an argument is refused, so it never lands in your shell history.
  2. Draft from the terminalIn Claude Code, say /evenpost this. Or use the command line itself: the same command as the login step, with draft create and one quoted argument per tweet. quote checks the length first.
  3. Approve on your phoneTap Queue and the post takes the next natural slot, or pick an exact minute inside your hours. queue list then shows it from the terminal.

What the terminal can and cannot do

It can draft, update a draft, check length, show one draft and list the queue. It cannot approve, schedule or post: those exist only in the app. That is the point. A leaked Evenpost key can fill your drafts, never your timeline, and you can revoke it in Settings.

Can I schedule a tweet for an exact time from the terminal?

You cannot schedule a tweet for an exact time from the terminal. The terminal drafts; you choose the time when you approve, in the app: the next natural slot, or an exact minute inside your hours, 7 am to 6 pm by default. The terminal and your agent can then read the queue.

Do I need an X developer account?

You do not need an X developer account to post from the terminal with Evenpost. You sign in with X once, in the app, and Evenpost posts for you after you approve. X's per-post API fee is Evenpost's cost, and you see counts in tweets and link posts.

Is there an npm package for the command line?

There is no npm package for the Evenpost command line yet. The app serves the package itself, so every command runs through npx with the app's address, as the install page shows. You install nothing globally, and you need Node 18.17 or newer on your computer.
