The risk is not that an agent writes badly. It is that it posts at all: a wrong draft, a half-finished X thread, a post at 3 am, or an edit you never saw. A safe setup has two rules. The agent can never post, and what you read on your phone is exactly what goes out.

First, tell Claude Code this and follow the link it prints. You open the link it prints in the browser where you are signed in and tap Allow; the agent never opens it. The page shows a code and your handle. Tap Allow or Deny. The code lasts 10 minutes. Done. Go back to your terminal. It finishes the setup on its own. The steps below are the older key path.

What Claude Code can and cannot do

It can draft, edit, attach photos, check length and read your queue. It cannot approve, queue, post or change your settings, because those actions are not in its tool list. See What your agent can do.

Why not give Claude Code an X API key?
