Can an AI agent post to X (Twitter) for me?

Yes: an AI agent can post to X (Twitter) for you if it holds a key with write access, and then it posts whatever it decides. Evenpost, an app for X (Twitter) that lets an AI agent draft posts you approve on your phone, gives the agent the writing and keeps the posting with you.

Evenpost / Answers / Can an AI agent post to X?

An agent usually reaches X in one of three ways. It runs a script with your own X API keys. It uses a tool that publishes for it. Or it drafts into a queue that a person approves. The first two post the moment the agent decides. Only the third keeps a person between the draft and X.

How an AI agent can post to X (Twitter) safely

Give the agent everything except the last step. It can write the post, check its length, attach photos and read your queue. It cannot approve, schedule or publish. A rule in the prompt, such as "always ask me first", is advice the agent can forget. A tool that does not exist cannot be misused.

What Evenpost lets an agent do

  1. DraftWrite a single post or an X thread of up to 25 tweets, and change it until you edit it yourself. After that, your version is kept.
  2. CheckCount X's weighted length for your account and see which tweets carry a link, before anything is saved.
  3. AskSend you a "needs approval" notification. Asking is all it does.
  4. NeverApprove, queue, post, change your posting hours or delete anything. Those actions exist only in the app, on your phone. See What your agent can do.

Which agents work this way

Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Cursor connect in about 2 minutes, and your key never goes on the command line. In Claude Code, say /evenpost this and the free skill drafts from what you are working on. Cursor and Claude Desktop get the same steps as the "Evenpost this" prompt.

Can an AI agent post to X without an X API key?

An AI agent can post to X without your own X API key only through a service that holds X access for it. Through Evenpost the agent never touches X at all: it gets an Evenpost key that can draft and read, and Evenpost posts only what you approve on your phone.

Does the agent see my X password?

No, the agent never sees your X password or your X sign-in. You sign in to Evenpost with X, on X's own page, and the sign-in token is stored encrypted. The agent gets only an Evenpost key, which can draft and read but never approve or post. You can revoke that key in Settings.

Can I let the agent post on its own later?

You cannot set Evenpost to let an agent post on its own. There is no setting for it and no approve or post tool to hand over, so every post waits for you in the app. An agent that publishes by itself needs a different setup. Evenpost vs posting from Claude directly.
